RESEARCH
Research is integral to Fiona’s practice, informing her work and enhancing her understanding of science, history, and social contexts. Her funded residencies include a British Council research project in Venice focused on the ‘Aqua Alta’ tides, a funded residency at Oxford University – Wadham College examining weather classification and fluid dynamics, and being selected for a prestigious residency in California (John Baldessari studios) sponsored by Hauser & Wirth, where she responded to the region’s seismic activity by creating a series of sculptures. These diverse experiences fuel her exploration of materials, concepts, and narratives.
Fiona also thrives on collaboration, having worked with sound artists on an installation for the Illuminate festival in Bath. The public’s interaction with mineral waters was transformed into a live light and soundscape, attracting over 20,000 visitors.
